For anyone who saw my little stall at #shipleywayzgoose2019 here are some results of my plastic casting experiment. After having some success with duplicating some large 60pt Stephenson Blake grotesque, I wanted to see what sort of fine detail could be picked up, so thought I’d try out the small Monotype trains. They’re not perfect but, given that a) they can’t be cast by conventional casting anymore and b) that this was done without a degassing chamber on a trestle table in a community centre, the results are ok.
